My son was spending some time playing Super Mario 64 last night. His three-year-old mind wrapped around that game the first time he put his hands on the controller. Now he can’t get enough of it.

Anyway, while he was engulfed in the Mushroom Kingdom, I cracked open one of my old 2D design books to brush up on the ol’ essentials. Spent some time in the section on repeating shapes and designs created from them.

Went to the computer and came up with this nifty piece. Well, I think it’s nifty. I used repeating circles to make an observatory from a birds-eye view, and some clean sans-serif type.
